Blazing a New Path for HR!
Workshop 1 | Tuesday, May 9 | 2:30 - 3:45
An informal confederation of HR groups is forming in cities across the U.S. and around the world, designed to take a whole new look at the human resource experience. It’s called Disrupt HR and involves quick talking point discussions in bistro type settings. We’ll briefly explore what this is about and its potential in Maine. And, we’ll engage in a few disruptive HR discussions. Gio Twigge, CHRO of IDEXX in Westbrook, Stacie Mallen, Tuesday's Keynote presenter and CEO of Videoloco in Arizona, plus Shannon Kashinsky, VP of HR at PeoplesChoice Credit Union in Saco, will take to the stage. Some of the conversations might include: How do you position HR to be a moral and ethical center at work? What does a seat at the table really mean? Are Best Places programs effective means for talent acquisition? Can you resolve certain workplace compliance issues without legal representation? How do you call out a bad metric or set of analytics? Does pay equity mean the same thing to men and women? We aim to provoke the audience and give you something to think about on your return to work.
