Mastering Your HR Coaching Skills: The Power of Peers

As HR practitioners and leaders, we invest a lot of time ensuring the successful development of our employees, yet we don’t always take the time to invest in ourselves. We are often like the cobbler’s children with no new shoes! To be successful, we must invest in our own development. One great way to do this is by partnering with a peer coach. In this highly interactive and results-oriented workshop, you will hear from Sarah Mann, Principal of Spark HR Solutions, and Sue LaChance, Director of Learning and Organizational Development at TripAdvisor, about how their one-time networking meeting turned into a peer mentoring relationship, having now coached each other through the trials and tribulations of life and work for seven years (and counting!). They’ve packaged up their model as part of their professional toolkit – and are looking forward to sharing it with you. You will learn and practice coaching skills, become aware of coaching pitfalls, and walk away with the simple instructions to apply this practice in your own organization. Best of all – you’ll participate in an exercise that facilitates introductions to others in the group (with the aid of some great “starter questions”), so you can benefit from peer coaching, and possibly find your own peer coach.
