Dr. Bessie Lawton is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies at West Chester University. She was born and raised in the Philippines, and received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania Annenberg School for Communication. Dr. Lawton’s scholarly work explores issues of identification, especially for minority groups, as well as interracial relationship dynamics. She has supported Dr. Foeman in the DNA Discussion Project for the last five years. Together, they have been interviewed on National Public Radio, published in scholarly journals, and presented in numerous conferences.
