Program A: Comp 101: Introducing the System.  The conference kicks off with creative case studies to get you thinking and talking about the key terms, procedures, defenses, and management tools. A session designed for people new to comp or for those who want a "refresher" on the system. Presenters: Paul Sighinolfi and Debra Reece (Rudman & Winchell).

Program B: Is That Really a Work-Related Injury?  Roll up your sleeves and help this panel of workers' compensation experts evaluate a host of non-typical injuries occuring in today's workplace and whether those injuries arise out of employment. This session is designed to prompt critical thinking so that you might better evaluate all the possible occupational health issues at work. Presenters: Anne-Marie Storey (Rudman & Winchell), Rita Bean (Workers' Compensation Board), and Sonja Perfetto (Acadia Insurance).
3:30pm-4:30pm
Program C: The Practical Evaluation and Use of Medical Evidence.  Let's focus on building better partnerships for return to work, including avenues for employers communicating with medical providers, how insurance representatives coordinate and exchange medical information, how attorneys can use medical resources in litigation, and how medical care providers can determine what the workers' compensation system seeks from them. Topics: 1) employer choice of medical providers; 2) record reviews; 3) Section 207 exams; and 4) Section 312 exams.
