Registration Re-opens

Welcome! Comp Summit registration remains open throughout noon today.

Breakfast is served from 7:00-9:00 a.m. on the Erickson Hall Veranda, which is the site for the Comp Summit EXPO. View a wide range of products and services for the workers' compensation community in Maine and enjoy coffee and conversation.

The following schedule is subject to change, so please check back from time to time for the latest updates.

8:30 - 9:45

Fourth Plenary Session

Legal Year-in-Review. Join this analysis of key Law Court cases since the last Comp Summit and take a look at the past session of the Maine Legislature. We'll review these cases from the perspective of the workers' compensation bar, and we will also report the effects of these decisions on the Board, injured workers, Maine employers and their carriers.

Presenters: Mike Richards (Troubh Heisler), Karen Bilodeau (McTeague Higbee), and Rosie Williams (Thompson & Bowie).

10:00 - 11:15

Fifth Plenary Session

Medical Open House, Part 2. Our medical team returns with additional cases studies and an open ear to your occupational health questions. These doctors will tackle additional issues, including medical information, causation, impairment rating, work capacity based on diagnosis, care standards, "should I pay for this," and information on medical trends, technology, and medications.

Moderator: Al Mesrobian, MD (Occupational Health Associates of Maine) and Tom Hadley, MD (Concentra Medical Centers).

11:30 - 12:00

Sixth Plenary Session

Comp Summit Quiz Show. We close with a fun and educational game show format, designed to remind you of the key information and best practices you acquired at the conference. We know that value of any conference is measured by the "take-aways" you bring back to your workplace - this session will help you restate the key legal nuggets, claims management tips, human resources and employee protocols, and occupational health, wellness, and medicine concepts from Comp Summit 2010.
