About the Convention
The Maine HR Convention is a production of Northern New England Law Publishers, Inc. This is the 15th year of the conference, and five years ago, Maine’s SHRM State Council joined as an endorsing sponsor to make this the official SHRM State Conference in Maine. We are assisted in this endeavor by our good friends at The HR Times, and Green Tree Event Consultants.
Philosophy... A great convention is more than the sum of its parts. When you walk out the Samoset door, you should be traveling with great HR tools for your workplace, a better sense of where HR stands in your organization, an enhanced HR career, and we want you to have learned something new about yourself. You should be a SPECIAL GUEST at the convention, not just an attendee!
Education and Certification... Our highest priority is quality education. We are seeking maximum credit from HRCI so that PHR's and SPHR's in the audience may earn the hours they need. As in the past, we anticipate HRCI approval of our programs and we’ll have the exact numbers for you in March.
2010 Goals:
-To introduce a five-track workshop system: Employee Management and Development; Legal Compliance and Risk Management; Strategic Role for HR; HR Skill Building; and Compensation and Benefits.
-To bring you eight nationally recognized keynote speakers.
-To create extraordinary networking opportunities.
-To demonstrate the products and services available to the HR community in Maine through the HR EXPO and Sponsorships.
-To roll out the red carpet for you!
