1:00 - 2:00     KEYNOTE: Active Listening... It Only Takes a Moment

Erahm Christopher | Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Erahm Christopher

In a world where we are constantly bombarded with messaging – advertisements, emails, smart phones, text messages, streaming videos, music, news feeds, and more – we are conditioned to absorb as much information as possible from as many channels as possible all at once. Has the art of truly listening been lost? In his keynote presentation Erahm Christopher, Director and Producer of the feature film Listen, explores what it means to be an active listener. We will learn how listening has changed with culture shifts throughout history, the depth of the negative impact poor communication practices have in both our professional and personal lives, and tangible tactics we can use to block out the noise and start actively listening.

Approved for SHRM credit and HRCI general (HR) credit.

Track: Keynote

2:30 - 3:45     CONCURRENT WORKSHOPS

    LinkedIn Workshop

4:00 - 5:00     Do Rebels Make Good HR Leaders?

Keynote with Stacie Mallen from Chandler, Arizona

Stacie Mallen

Stacie Mallen is now with her 7th startup company. It’s called Videoloco, a venture focusing on the emotional power of video in the world of business. She’ll share some stories on how Rules Make Rebels, stories of trial and error, success and failure. And from her experience as an HR leader, she’ll offer disruptive, new ways of thinking designed to help you look at your organization’s HR function and your career in new ways. Think of it as a new rhythm and structure for HR and business. This isn’t about rebellion for rebellion’s sake, rather it’s about constructive non-conformity and how a bit of rebellion can help build trust. It’s about being a catalyst, where impactful HR leaders use the tools of the most effective entrepreneurs – people who tip toe up to the edge of the precipice before jumping.

Approved for SHRM credit and HRCI BUSINESS credit.
